Overview
Meticulously designed by the owners to work in harmony with it’s unique surroundings, Vigla Estate is a precious haven. Sitting atop gentle slopes and enveloped by organically farmed olive groves from which the estate produces it’s own olive oil, there is a huge feeling of peace here. From the house the views stretch out over Meganisi channel towards Ithaca and further into the distance Kefalonia and the mountain range of the mainland can be seen. Looking out across the water here, one could imagine the views unchanged since the times of Greek mythology.

Staff guest house set away from the property
There are two single beds, one of each can be added to any of the bedrooms for up to an additional two guests

Golf buggy (only to be driven by house staff) can provide transport to and from nearest beach if needed

Live-in house manager couple (one day off per week) - they stay in a separate house on the estate and provide:

Vigla is set in a totally private estate in the northwest of Meganisi, just west of Spilia harbour and the village of Spartochori.
Spartochori is just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the villa, and there are some great little shops and tavernas here
The nearest beach is just below Spartachori at the end of Porto Spilia (please note the walk is down hill so will take longer on the uphill return)
Vathi is a 10 minute drive away - its the largest town on the island with a beautiful horseshoe shape port and delightful tavernas, cafe’s and bakeries
Fly to Preveza Airport
We can help arrange private transfers (payable locally):
Taxi from airport to Perigiali (45 minute drive), then private sea taxi to Spilia port on Meganisi, where the house couple will meet you and take you up to Vigla (5 minute drive)
Alternatively, you can hire a car from the airport and drive to Nidri in Lefkada (45 minutes), and then take the car ferry from Nidri to Spilia in Meganisi (25 minutes journey time)
Inside, the rooms are dotted with beautiful and unique pieces of furniture, carefully sourced. The bedrooms are generous in size and elegantly furnished with attractive textiles. The carved wooden headboard in one bedroom is a charming inclusion. The bathrooms have lovely creative touches; pebble mosaics on the floor, roughly hewn stone window sills and white washed walls. The pool is set into the hillside below the house and is enclosed on one side by a shaded portico and stone wall with comfortable seating area- the entrance to the pool area can be locked which is great for families with small children. The pool area is generously equipped with plenty of sunbeds and hugely comfy daybeds- we loved that there were so many areas in this house to relax.
