Casa Benedetta
This is a truly lovely house with no immediate neighbours, yet within easy reach of a medieval hilltop town. The large open-plan living space is hugely comfortable and a winding path leads through the olive trees to a centuries-old, original wine cellar that has been transformed into an outdoor kitchen with seating area. Overlooking the property’s small vineyard, it’s perfect for pizzas, long lunches or supper ‘al fresco’.

This house is just a stone's throw from beautiful Citta della Pieve, a traditional hilltop town with an11th century tower and an impressive medieval castle. There are some great restaurants: both basic and ’posh’; a little of everything but all very delicious. The weekly Saturday market offers some great local fare. The village also has a claim to fame: it is home to what is thought to be Italy’s narrowest street, the Via Baciadonne (or “Kiss Women Street”), probably built following a quarrel between neighbours! Casa Benedetta boasts breath-taking views and endless opportunities to explore everything this region has to offer.
