A completely private retreat uniquely located on a hilltop above the village of Pitcombe in Somerset and only 5 minutes from Bruton.
Surrounded by rolling acres of open farmland and distant forests - there are many glorious walks directly from the house via public footpaths
Bruton is 5 minutes by car or a 35 minute walk
Castle Cary 10 minutes by car
Frome 25 minutes by car
Sherborne 25 minutes by car
Bath 45 minutes by car
London is 2 hours away by car
Fly to Bristol airport, a 45 minute drive from the house
Castle Cary train station is a 10 minute drive away, and has direct train links from London Paddington
Heathrow airport is just under 2hrs by car
Car hire is recommended, as taxis can be hard to come by being a relatively rural area. A car with a higher wheelbase is recommended as the track to the house is a little uneven in places
What we love most is how the house makes you feel at home the moment you step through the oak front door. The galleried hall and dining room, with their light-filled spaces and French windows, invite long lunches and lazy afternoons that spill onto the garden, while the cosy corners, like the Harris Tweed sofas or the velvet Conran Shop sofas by the fireplace, are perfect for curling up with a book or a coffee. Upstairs, each bedroom has its own personality and outlook, making every stay feel personal, and the panoramic countryside views from every angle are simply breath-taking, whether you’re watching a golden sunset or morning mist rolling over the fields.
“Our family had the most wonderful time, thank you to you all! ”
